Language Settings
Language Settings
Configure your native language and the languages you want to learn. This is essential for the app to work properly!
Important:
You must set your language preferences before using flashcards or quizzes. The app needs to know:
- Your native language (the language you know best)
- The language(s) you want to learn
How to Set Your Languages
- Click "Settings" from the home page or top navigation
- Select your Native Language from the dropdown (e.g., German, English)
- Check the boxes for languages you want to learn
- Click "Save Changes" to apply your preferences
What This Does
- Flashcards will show: Your Native Language → Learning Language
- Quizzes test you in the correct direction
- Settings apply across the entire app
- No need to select languages on each page
Example
If your native language is German and you're learning English:
- Flashcards show: German word → English translation
- Quizzes ask: What is the English word for 'Hallo'?
- Audio plays in both languages
Auto-Selection (2 Languages Only)
If the app only has 2 languages and you haven't set your learning language yet, it automatically uses the other language. But we recommend setting it properly in Settings!
Pro Tip: You can always change your language preferences in Settings. Your learning progress is saved regardless of language changes!
